Tenuta Santini in Vinci

Wine and Olive Oil from the Heart of Tuscany

Nestled on the gentle slopes of Montalbano, Tenuta Santini imbues its oil and wine with the history of Leonardo's land.

Massimo Santini follows the footsteps of his father Franco. In the cellar he vinifies and prepares the wines with care and preserving attention, convinced that there is no significant achievement without commitment and perseverance. Our mission? To enhance Tuscan and Italian indigenous grape varieties, with moderate percentages of international varieties, in order to obtain distinctive, typical, supple and silky wines. All this is possible thanks to the wineyards divided into various plots with different hillside exposure, which gives the grapes unique and complex texture.

Chianti DOCG

Our Chianti takes center stage in our cellar, with his ruby-red color and intense aroma.

Ancient Flavor

We produce oil and wine with the aim of preserving the original flavor from Vinci intact.

Extra Virgin Olive Oil

Our oil is genuine and it comes from at least 3 typical tuscan varieties of olives, privately grown on our hills.

EXTRA VIRGIN OLIVE OIL

Handpicked Moraiolo, Leccino, and Frantoio olives.

Tenuta Santini's oil is clear, with a beautiful bright green color. Its aroma is fragrant, fruity, and with a delicate, slightly spicy flavor.

OUR SECRET FOR SUCH GOOD OIL? COLD PRESSING.

Olives are handpicked and then squeezed within 48 hours from the  harvest. Cold pressing, produced by a mechanical process at a temperature below 27 ºC, is carried out in full respect of the olive fruit. This allows us to avoid alterations and maintain the quality characteristics of the oil itself!

OUR WINES

Wines express full varietal features and the places they come from.

The wines we produce have unique sensory characteristics, able to satisfy several palates. The skillful blend of red wines, each with specific characteristics, gives life to a complex and complete wine. In addition to Chianti, other structured reds stand out, along with a white, a rosé, and a traditional and unique Vin Santo.

POGGIONI
Chianti DOCG

Wine Description

"Chianti Poggioni" has ruby red wine features with fruity notes, reminiscence of cherries and plums. Elegant on the palate, it is best served at room temperature and pairs well with beef, pork, game, and all the typical dishes of Tuscan tradition.

Organoleptic Properties

COLOUR:
Deep ruby red.

AROMA:
Winey and intense with pleasant fruity notes, reminiscence of cherries and plums.

FLAVOUR:
Smooth, slightly tannic, good structure.

Grape Varieties and Vinification

GRAPE VARIETIES: Sangiovese, Canaiolo, and Cabernet Sauvignon.

VINEYARD AGE: 25-30 years (average).

TRAINING SYSTEM: Guyot.

VINIFICATION: In stainless steel fermenters, with frequent pumping over, punching down, and delestage, at a controlled temperature, until the complete alcoholic fermentation.

AGING: At least 6 months in stainless steel or vitrified cement tanks and in bottle for 2 to 4 months.

ALCOHOL CONTENT: 13%.

Cinquecento
Riserva Chianti DOCG

Wine Description

Chianti Riserva "Cinquecento" has ruby red wine features and a gentle fruity aroma. Structured and harmonious, it is served at room temperature with beef, lamb, game, roasts, tasty cured meats, or aged cheeses.

Organoleptic Properties

COLOUR:
Deep ruby red.

AROMA:
Fruity aroma of berries and their jams.

FLAVOUR:
Structured and harmonious, very persistent.

Grape Varieties and Vinification

GRAPE VARIETIES: Sangiovese, Canaiolo, Cabernet Sauvignon.

VINEYARD AGE: 25-30 years (average).

TRAINING SYSTEM: Guyot.

VINIFICATION: In tanks until the completion of alcoholic fermentation, with frequent pumping over, punching down, and delestage, at a controlled temperature.

AGING: 6-9 months in oak barrels and at least 6 months in bottle.

ALCOHOL CONTENT: 13%.

PIASTRINO
Rosso Toscano I.G.T.

Wine Description

An I.G.T. Red wine with a ruby red color, with a fruity and vinous aroma. Served at room temperature, it pairs well with roasted pork, poultry, soft and intense cheeses. It also complements our typical vegetable or fish soups.

COLOUR:
Deep ruby red.

AROMA:
Fruity aroma of fresh cherries and red berries, winey, fragrant, and intense.

FLAVOUR:
Smooth, winey, and persistent.

Grape Varieties and Vinification

GRAPE VARIETIES: Sangiovese, Merlot, Montepulciano.

VINEYARD AGE: 25-30 years (on average).

TRAINING SYSTEM: Guyot.

VINIFICATION: In stainless steel fermenters until the completion of alcoholic fermentation, with frequent pumping over, punching down, and delestage, at a controlled temperature.

BOTTLE AGING: 2 to 4 months.

ALCOHOL CONTENT: 13%.

CARICELLO
Rosso Toscano I.G.T.

Wine Description

A full bodied Tuscan red wine, with a deep ruby color. It is suitable for accompanying game (wild boar, hare) and elaborate dishes made with all types of meat, served at room temperature.

Organoleptic Properties

COLOUR:
Deep ruby red.

AROMA:
Complex fruity aroma, with reminiscence of wild fruits with notes of jam and spicy hints of vanilla and pepper.

FLAVOUR:
Full-bodied, juicy, and persistent.

Grape Varieties and Vinification

GRAPE VARIETIES: Montepulciano, Cabernet Sauvignon.

VINEYARD AGE: 25-30 years (on average).

TRAINING SYSTEM: Guyot.

VINIFICATION: In stainless steel and cement tanks, with frequent pumping over and delestage.

AGING: Approximately 12 months in medium-toast oak barriques.

ALCOHOL CONTENT: 14%.

VALINARDI
Bianco Toscano I.G.T.

Wine Description

An I.G.T. white wine that evokes the scent of spring flowers and ripe white fruit. With its dry and full-bodied taste and an elegant bitter almond after taste, it is excellent served chilled as an aperitif or with poultry or fish.

Organoleptic Properties

COLOUR:
Pale straw yellow with greenish reflections.

AROMA:
Delicate and fruity, with notes of pear and floral hints.

FLAVOUR:
Dry, full-bodied, characteristic.

Grape Varieties and Vinification

GRAPE VARIETIES: Trebbiano Toscano, Malvasia Toscana, and Vermentino.

VINEYARD AGE: 25-30 years (on average).

TRAINING SYSTEM: Guyot.

VINIFICATION: Destemming and soft pressing, fermentation in stainless steel tanks at a temperature of 16°/18°C.

BOTTLE AGING: 2 to 4 months.

ALCOHOL CONTENT: 12%.

GHIRIBIZZO
Rosato Toscano I.G.T.

Wine Description

An I.G.T. rosé wine that, with its aroma, evokes fresh red berry fruits like strawberries, cherries, grapefruit and pink rose. Best served at 14°C for an optimal experience, paired with appetizers, pizzas, and summer grills.

Organoleptic Properties

COLOUR:
Rosé.

AROMA:
Intense aroma of red berries reminiscent of strawberries and cherries.

FLAVOUR:
Savoury, balanced, and persistent.

Grape Varieties and Vinification

GRAPE VARIETIES: Sangiovese.

VINEYARD AGE: 25-30 years (on average).

TRAINING SYSTEM: Guyot.

VINIFICATION: The red grapes undergo cryo-maceration for aroma extraction and the right intensity of color. Then, "bleeding" is performed followed by fermentation at a controlled temperature.

BOTTLE AGING: 2 to 4 months.

ALCOHOL CONTENT: 13%.

MESSER FRANCO
Vin Santo del Chianti Doc

Wine Description

A Vin Santo with a velvety taste that, to the nose, evokes raisins, dates, and dried fruit, along with a smooth and sweet aftertaste. It is perfect for accompanying desserts or biscuits.

Organoleptic Properties

COLOUR:
Amber.

AROMA:
Complex aromas of raisins, dates, and dried fruit.

FLAVOUR:
Harmonious, velvety, semi-sweet.

Grape Varieties and Vinification

GRAPE VARIETIES: Trebbiano Toscano, Malvasia Toscana, San Colombano.

VINEYARD AGE: 50-70 years.

TRAINING SYSTEM: Guyot.

VINIFICATION: The grapes lay on mats in November, drying in windy rooms. In December, following tradition, the clusters are pressed and the must is placed in chestnut or oak barrels for fermentation.

AGING: In 100-liter barrels for a period of at least 3 years.

ALCOHOL CONTENT: 18%.
